Overleaf is a cloud-based LaTeX editor designed for collaborative technical writing and publishing. The source code is available and can be self-hosted, if desired.
Pros:

- Simple edit/visual modes and automatic LaTeX compilation

Cons:
- An internet connection is required to use the app. However, files can be edited offline and synced later
- Collaboration features can be expensive
